A Home for Health Professionals of All Disciplines GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality, or simply “GLMA,” is the professional home for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) health professionals, and is proud to be a multidisciplinary organization. Originally open only to physicians, residents and medical students, in 2002, GLMA expanded its mission and now represents the interests of tens of thousands of LGBTQ health professionals of all kinds as well as millions of LGBTQ patients and families. GLMA welcomes anyone into our membership who supports our mission to ensure equality in healthcare. GLMA's membership includes approximately 1,000 members, including: • Physicians • Nurses • Advanced practice nurses • Physician assistants • Researchers and academics • Behavioral health specialists • Dentists • Pharmacists • Veterinarians • Health profession students • Many other health professionals Our members reside and work across the US and in several other countries. Their practices represent the major healthcare disciplines and a wide range of health specialties, including but not limited to: internal medicine, family practice, psychiatry, psychology, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology and women’s health, endocrinology, emergency care and medicine, neurology, infectious diseases, veterinary medicine and dentistry.
