Forward through Ferguson: A Path Toward Racial Equity
The tragic killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, has sparked a national conversation on race and racial divisions in America and left the local community calling for answers in the wake of the unrest following Brown’s death. The Ferguson Commission was established to help chart “a new path toward healing and positive change for the residents of the St. Louis region” and Forward through Ferguson was developed as a direct result of the Commission’s work.

Learn more about what regional leaders are doing to address these challenges at http://forwardthroughferguson.org/.

With this background in mind, the theme for the 34th GLMA Annual Conference on LGBT Health — Intersectionality in LGBT Communities: Gateways to New Understandings — is intended to address how the intersections of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and other aspects of diversity impact health and well-being.
