Call for GLMA Board of Directors Health Professional in Training (HPiT) Position
GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality is seeking a motivated health professional student/trainee who has a passion for healthcare equality and strengthening their leadership skills to join the GLMA Board of Directors in the Health Professional in Training (HPiT) co-chair role. The one-year term begins in the fall with opportunity for a one-year renewal.
The HPiT co-chair is the voice for the student and trainee members of GLMA. In addition to being a full voting board member, the position is responsible for co-chairing the HPiT committee, which is tasked with addressing issues important to GLMA student/trainee members. Examples of these activities include coordinating HPiT events at the annual conference, strengthening member communications, and participating in quarterly GLMA board meetings and monthly HPiT conference calls. Diverse students/trainees from all health professions, including residents and fellows, are encouraged to apply.
Completed applications should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "HPIT application". If selected, interviews will take place in April and a final decision will be made by mid-June.

Join GLMA’s Health Professionals in Training Committee
As part of its commitment to providing support and resources to students and professionals-in-training, GLMA created the Health Professionals in Training Committee. The Committee is composed of GLMA members at various points of their health professions training, including pre-medical, medical, nursing and physician assistant students as well as interns, residents and fellows. In addition to providing representation on the GLMA board, the Committee coordinates and implements GLMA’s initiatives involving student and trainee members, working with other GLMA committees and staff to address:
- Student and trainee-specific content at the annual conference
- Curriculum reform
- Mentorship activities
- Local LGBTQ health education, policy and advocacy work
